Investigating attitudes towards use of web-blogs on developing writing comprehension

Writing has a unique process in teaching foreign language. The research work is devoted to the analysis of the possibilities of using web blogs in the process of developing understanding of the written language. The effective use of information and communication technologies in the modern educational space is one of the main conditions for improving the quality of the educational process. In this sense, web blogs are seen as an important tool in improving students ' written text comprehension skills, analyzing and systematically analyzing information, and developing their ability to reflect. In addition, blogging contributes to the expansion of students ' language competence, scientific and creative expression of their thoughts, as well as the formation of independent and critical thinking skills. In the course of the study, the pedagogical potential, advantages and limitations of the use of web blogs are identified, and the methodological foundations of their effective use in educational practice are considered. While gaining writing comprehension in English lessons, learners also create a critical and creative perspective and to help them learn new and different. It is also aimed to generate ideas. The objective of the recent research study was to investigate attitudes towards use of Web-blogging on developing writing comprehension of learners. In the present study, overall 40 learners participated from I.Altynsarin Arkalik Pedagogical Institute, Pedagogy and Philology faculty. Descriptive research design was used in the current research study in order to achieve purpose of research. The questionnaire was surveyed between 1st and 2nd course learners. After collecting whole data the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 was utilized to calculate the results. In accordance the results descriptive statistics showed learners’ positive attitudes towards use of Web-blogging on developing their writing capabilities. Moreover, there was no significant difference between courses and gender.References
