Professional competences of an art teacher through the prism of a professional standard

Abstract

The paper offers a brief analysis of the labor function of a teacher of artistic disciplines. The main attention is focused on the key aspects of the teacher's professional activity, which are aimed at realizing the competence potential of the artistic educational field, defined by the State Standard of General Secondary Education. The study is based on methodological and didactic approaches that ensure the formation of key competencies in students, including the ability to creative self-expression, critical thinking and aesthetic perception of the world, etc. A detailed scientific analysis focuses on the labor function "Teaching students subjects (integrated courses)" of the Professional Standard "Teacher of a General Secondary Education Institution", where key pedagogical aspects of teaching artistic disciplines are accumulated. The study covers such essential components as the organization of the educational process taking into account the specifics of art, mechanisms for the formation of subject competencies through practical artistic activity, as well as ensuring the development of emotional and value attitudes of students in the artistic space. Based on the labor function “Teaching students subjects (integrated courses)”, professional competencies are identified and detailed: linguistic and communicative competence, which provides for effective professional communication; subject-methodical competence, which covers knowledge of the subject and methods of its teaching; information and digital competence, which determine the integral ability of a teacher to implement professional competencies in the conditions of a digital society. The purpose of the study is the theoretical substantiation and systematization of the requirements for the professional qualities of a teacher of art disciplines. Thus, this study is a methodological guideline for modeling a teacher's professional competence and opportunities for designing trajectories of his further professional improvement.
