Formation of intercultural communicative competence of philology students

Abstract

The article considers the problems of forming intercultural communicative competence of philology students in modern higher education institutions of Ukraine. The essence of intercultural communication is analyzed, the main features and features of the formation of intercultural communicative competence in modern conditions of internationalization of education are highlighted. The role of foreign languages ​​in the formation of intercultural communicative competence is emphasized. Special attention is paid to the theoretical aspects of the formation of intercultural competence. Specific approaches to the formation of linguocultural, sociolinguistic competences as sub-competences of intercultural competence are considered, which includes the study of languages, traditions and cultures, interactive teaching methods, as well as the role of language in intercultural communication. The main prospects for the formation of intercultural competence in higher education institutions of Ukraine are determined. The formation of a subject of intercultural communication is the main goal of teaching a foreign language. The process of forming such a personality is associated with the formation in the mind of a philology student of a linguistic picture of the world, characteristic of the speakers of the country whose language is being studied. In this regard, there is a need to form intercultural communicative competence of a future teacher, in particular linguocultural competence, in his professional activities. Thus, in the context of a competency-based approach, the intercultural competence of future foreign language teachers provides the ability to dialogue, cooperation, the ability and willingness to communicate in a multicultural, multilingual environment, and becomes the object of comprehension and purposeful formation in higher education institutions. The conclusion is made about the need to integrate humanitarian disciplines and develop interdisciplinary courses for the formation of intercultural communicative competence.
