Opportunities for modernization of Ukrainian machine-building enterprises through the introduction of Industry 4.0

Abstract

The article analyzes the main aspects of the gradual transition of Ukrainian machine-building enterprises to a new level of production through the use of the latest Industry 4.0 technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic systems and digital modeling. The modernization of machine-building enterprises is an important factor in increasing Ukraine's competitiveness in the global market. The introduction of the Industry 4.0 concept opens up new opportunities for automation, optimization of production processes and integration of modern digital technologies. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of factors hindering the modernization of Ukrainian enterprises, including insufficient funding, insufficient number of qualified personnel, and outdated production equipment. The author proposes a set of measures to overcome these barriers, including stimulating state funding, developing educational programs, and creating research and production clusters. Research proves that the introduction of Industry 4.0 not only improves the efficiency of production processes, but also provides flexibility in responding to changing market conditions and individual customer needs. The study found a positive impact on reducing production costs, improving product quality, and reducing the time to market for new products. The author proposes strategic approaches to overcoming these problems and emphasizes the need for cooperation between the state, business, and research and education institutions to create a favorable environment for digital innovation. The article discusses approaches to collecting and analyzing data to identify consumer needs for various types of products (cars, machine tools, household appliances, textiles, etc.). The main stages of research are described, effective methods for collecting primary and secondary information are identified, and an algorithm for analyzing consumer data for making informed management decisions is proposed. The proposed methodology is aimed at improving the accuracy of demand forecasting and improving product development processes. The practical significance of the article lies in the formation of recommendations for the management structures of machine-building enterprises on the choice of effective tools and strategies for the implementation of Industry 4.0. The results obtained can serve as a roadmap for possible development of machine-building enterprises in Ukraine and increase its innovation potential. The results of the study confirm the importance of integrating the principles of Industry 4.0 to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian machine building in the domestic and global markets.
