Analysis and Implementation of Noise Mitigation Measures in an Urban Environment

The research paper is devoted to the analysis of the effectiveness of noise protection measures in large cities, the preservation of public health, and the improvement of people’s quality of life. During the study, scientific articles related to the selected topic were reviewed, expert research findings were analysed, and conclusions were drawn regarding solutions to the problems of megacities associated with noise pollution and its impact on residents’ health, both physical and mental. The paper analyses global experience in the field of noise protection and identifies the strengths and weaknesses of various noise mitigation measures. For people constantly exposed to noise, it is extremely difficult to get proper rest, work efficiently, and maintain good health. Noise causes nervous disorders, damages sensory organs, reduces labour productivity, and significantly worsens human health. The extremely severe condition of urban ecosystems caused by noise pollution requires immediate intervention and gradual resolution of the above-mentioned problems. This paper examines sources of noise pollution using Lesia Ukrainka Boulevard in the city of Kyiv as an example and proposes a number of noise protection measures based on an assessment of the noise conditions at the specified site.References
