Architectural and spatial formation of multifunctional sports and educational complexes: sociological aspect

Abstract

Based on the interdisciplinary method, comprehensive approach, analysis of theoretical research, and implemented projects, the research results highlight the importance of the sociological aspect in the architectural and spatial formation of multifunctional sports and educational complexes (MFSEC), where social rehabilitation, integration of the complex with the urban fabric, and communicative diversity of different social groups are realized. The approach of openness and integration of the spatial characteristics of the complex into the urban fabric connects individuals with the historical context of the place, shaping their attitude towards the environment. Based on the assessment of space perception, the ideological evaluation of society is formed. Positive space evaluation brings communities together on the basis of sports and education, strengthening national identity. It has been noted that multifunctional sports and educational complexes have several key typological features that make them socially active epicenters of the city. These include integration function — multifunctionality; spatial flexibility; openness of the complex. It is also emphasized that universal design based on biophilia promotes health and social rehabilitation. The formation of the architectural composition of multifunctional sports and educational complexes has been considered, with the principle of integrity as an evaluation of the perception of the architectural and spatial structure of the complex and the surrounding environment during movement at its core. This perception shapes a person’s worldview and their attitude towards space and the environment as a whole. People perceive such an environment as their "own" environment, their "own" space, which is identified with the "image of the city" and the ideological evaluation of society.
