Abstract

The operating parameters of non-drive discs used for digging up potato heaps determine the efficiency of the process and reduce crop losses. The main factors affecting the operation of such discs are their diameter, angle of inclination, depth of cultivation, width of engagement, as well as the materials from which they are made. The diameter of the disc affects the depth of digging, in particular, a large diameter allows for deeper penetration into the soil, which is important for harvesting potatoes at a considerable depth. The optimal diameter varies between 300 and 600 mm, depending on the type of soil. The angle of inclination of the disc is important for the effectiveness of its interaction with the soil and potatoes. The ideal angle is 15-30 degrees, which ensures effective digging and reduces the load on the equipment. The depth of cultivation should vary between 20-30 cm, which allows digging up potatoes without damaging the root crops. The width of the discs depends on the power of the equipment and the area of cultivation and should be within 30-50 cm. An important aspect is also the material of the discs - to ensure durability, they should be made of alloy steels or special alloys, which reduces wear. In addition, it is necessary to take into account the pressure on the discs, which should be adjustable to avoid deep digging, which can lead to crop damage. In general, correctly adjusted disc parameters ensure effective digging of potatoes, minimize losses and allow you to preserve the quality of the harvested crop.
