Modern trends of sustainable development in the development of policies and strategies in the business environment

The increasing attention of the international and investment community to the issues of sustainable development and ESG (environmental, social, governance) in the context of evaluating companies in the world, distributing capital, making management and investment decisions have recently become very relevant in order to develop high-quality recommendations and proposals for business , taking into account current trends in the development of policies and strategies. The article examines the factors that characterize the ESG concept - environmental, social, management, indicators that occupy an important place in many sustainable development initiatives, as they are able to present complex, complex and, at times, abstract tasks (for example, ending poverty) into more understandable fragments information (the share of the population below the poverty line, the share of the population with access to basic services, etc.) that can be measured, analyzed, and evaluated; the differences between the level of progress by country are systematized and the most problematic targets for high- and low-income countries as of 2022 are summarized; the state of achieving the goals of sustainable development in Ukraine was analyzed and structured and the problems in their achievement were identified, their generalization was carried out in three spheres: economic, social and environmental with the indication of the most vulnerable. The division into 3 spheres is due to the consensus approach currently existing in the world to ensure the practical implementation of sustainable development, it was called ESG-activity or ESG-activity, which makes it possible to conclude about the key role of enterprises in solving many existing problems.
